You lied to me  

And you made promises

That you couldn’t keep

Did it on purpose too

But maybe not maliciously

We fought

We argued

Said things we didn’t mean

But we said them cuz we knew they’d hurt

We wanted to cut deep

Caught up

heat of the moment

We weren’t trying to lose

Scarred battle wounds

we didn’t win the war

We ended

Called it quits

Go do you and I did me

Loose ends

Left hurt feelings

stomach in a knot 

Dead flower petals of he loves me 

he loves me not

Thinking we should talk

but knowing it’s too late

Cant fix what was never meant to be

From the beginning

call it density

Or maybe fate

Cuz we both know it’s best we went our separate ways

Even if we could try to recreate the past

the new me wouldn’t want to

Some things are better left broken

Embers turned ash

The truth hurts

It’s a fact

Heart in a hurst

Once again
Trying so hard
To replace
To recreate and trace
I failed to appreciate
What was before me
Maybe?
And maybe
it was your fault too
Because while I was busy recreating
You were caught up in missing her…

How did we get here

Luck?
Same feelings like before
As if you never left
We aren’t supposed to test fate

No quitting
No forfeits
I’m in it to win
Won’t settle for anything less.
