I first began writing lyrics in 7th grade. I would memorize the lyrics to my favorite songs and study the author’s work. I remember becoming frustrated when a popular song carried an amazing beat but lacked lyrical depth. I started reading lyrics of songs that moved me deeply and was captivated by the thought of someone I’ve never met knowing my heart so well. Since then, I’ve written lyrics in an attempt to express love, loss, hope and sexuality in a relatable way. Some are incomplete works, others are excepts but all are original and composed by me.
